PTE

PTE stands for Pearson Test of English, a standardized English language proficiency test developed by Pearson. It is commonly used by non-native English speakers for various purposes, such as:

1. Study Abroad: Many universities and colleges around the world accept PTE Academic as proof of English proficiency.
2. Immigration: Some countries, like Australia, accept PTE scores for visa applications.
3. Professional Licensing: Certain industries or organizations require PTE scores for certification or licensing.

Types of PTE Tests:

        1.     PTE Academic

PTE Academic is a computer-based English test that assesses your academic-level speaking, writing, reading and listening skills.

        2. PTE Core

The faster, fairer and simpler general English test. Recognized by the Canadian government (IRCC) for permanent residency applications under all economic classes.

        3.   UK visa tests

i)  PTE Academic UKVI

A faster, fairer and simpler choice for UK student and work visas, approved by the UK Home Office.

Accepted throughout the UK

PTE Academic UKVI is an approved, four-skill Secure English Language Test (SELT). It is the same test as PTE Academic, but includes a Unique Reference Number (URN) for your UK visa application.

For work visas

You should choose PTE Academic UKVI if you’re applying for a: 

• Skilled worker visa (formerly known as the Tier 2 General work visa) 
• Start-up visa 
• Innovator visa 
• Minister of religion visa (Tier 2)

ii) PTE Home A1

The beginner-level English test for Spouse, Parent of a Dependent, Representative of an Overseas Business and Sportsperson visas.

Accepted by the UK Home Office

This faster and simpler Secure English Language Test (SELT) is accepted for the following UK visas:  

• Spouse 
• Parent of a Dependent 
• Representative of an Overseas Business 
• Sportsperson

iii) PTE Home A2

A faster, fairer and simpler English language test for anyone looking to extend their UK family visa.

Accepted by the UK Home Office

This Secure English Language Test (SELT) is the right test if you want to: 

• Extend a Spouse visa 
• Extend a Parent of a Dependent visa. 

The test will allow you to certify that you can communicate in English at CEFR level A2. 

iv) PTE Home B1

The faster, fairer and simpler English language test for your UK settlement or citizenship application.

Accepted by the UK Home Office

This Secure English Language Test (SELT) is the right test if you’re applying for a UK visa for: 

• Settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain) 
• Citizenship 

The test is computer-based, with automated scoring, and results are typically available within 48 hours
